Hi and Welcome!

We are Brett and LJ, husband and wife from Florida and Alaska, here to share our life’s adventures, passion for travel, & heart of service through our brand, Love to Latitude.

After our youngest daughter graduated in 2018, we turned the page towards a new chapter in our lives, rediscovering all the things we set aside while our kids were still in school. We always had a dream to create something that was ours that we could look back on and be proud of, & most importantly, leaving behind our legacy to our daughters.

We created Love to Latitude as a brand representing what we love in life – our passion for travel and heart of service! We’re a laid-back couple taking a chance on life and putting our dreams into action with a lot of hard work and determination. Starting something new is good & scary, but we are going into this chapter with a flexible mindset & accepting the challenges ahead to improve, learn, and grow while doing what we love.

We hope to inspire you – the world – as we share our stories, lessons, and travel experiences, to live more on PURPOSE.

Hi, I’m Brett!

A simple, laid-back guy that loves adventure, all things leadership, and service. I grew up in sunny Florida and surfed my first wave at 6 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The rest is history, as that moment became an epitaph for my life. I have always chased life goals with a sort of relentless passion, knowing I would always reach the finish line as long as I kept putting one foot in front of the other.

I’ve lived in three different states within the U.S.: Florida, Alaska, and Oregon. Currently, I reside in Oregon and love every moment of its beauty. Having a unique work schedule in Alaska, where I work for three weeks & home for 3, allows us to travel and start transitioning full-time as Love to Latitude. It’s such a blessing to have this experience of working in the Arctic of Alaska.

I am a blessed man. I have an amazing and beautiful wife that supports my wild ideas, unorthodox thinking, & ridiculous humor, two beautiful daughters who are every father’s dream, and unshakable faith. If you genuinely work hard & believe in your drive, anything is possible and achievable.

My favorite place that I have traveled to is Fiji, & my dream home would be on a private island with great surf & clear blue water. Sunny all day and a little rain in the evening to share a bit of paradise with a few close friends and family.

Hi, I’m LJ!

I’m an out-going yet shy small-town gal born and raised on the “Emerald Isle,” Kodiak Island, Alaska. After 35 years of living here, my husband, Brett, and I moved to Oregon in 2012. It was such a significant change for me, but I love that Oregon reminds me of home!

Moving away from my home state was hard, but as always, my husband’s carefree spirit made my first experience a memorable one. His outlook on life is admirable and truly inspiring, and I’m so grateful to have Brett both as my husband and friend (since high school). We may be the total opposites, but we balance one another and keep each other going.

Wherever I am, I like to stay active, meet new people, & get out and travel near or far. Hopefully, one day I’ll get to travel the world full-time with Brett & add numbers to where I’ve been so far — 15 states, nine countries & four continents.

My favorite places that I’ve visited are Fiji (we went to twice) & the Maldives. Both are very special in their ways, and the experiences & memories that we have are forever. These once-in-a-lifetime experiences are experiences that we hope others will also have, & I can make it happen for you! As an Independent Travel Advisor, I help new & busy travelers make their dreams of the Caribbean and the Maldives reality.
